I'm sitting around 160% so I suspect that also complicates things. For example, my Anky on Official 403 (Console) has 611% Melee Damage, and yields ~90 Metal Ore from a single rock, and ~150 Metal Ore from a single rock that has more health (since Metal Nodes seem to spawn with two different types of health.) In all honestly, I don't think any of this data really matters, as soon as you have a Quetz + Anky / Mammoth / Doed comboes, you shouldn't be using tools anymore anyway, as they yield more resources in the same number of hits with higher Melee Damage. However smaller amounts of black obsidian rocks can be found in numerous peaks around The Island. Whitesky Peak and Volcano have rich amounts of obsidian rocks at and around the summit. It is found in caves and on mountains in smooth, black rocks. Journeyman Pickaxe with 153.8% Weapon Damage on a Metal Ore Node, I cleared the Node in four swings, and yielded 42 Metal Ore and 26 Stone. 5 pieces Hexagons 180 Obsidian is a resource in ARK: Survival Evolved. If you have a Pickaxe with ~200% Weapon Damage, you'll harvest about 27% faster, but yield about 16% less resources.Īscendant Pickaxe with 697.3% Weapon Damage on a Metal Ore Node, I cleared the Node in two swings, and yielded 31 Metal Ore and 17 Stone. Of all my testing from Primitive to Ascendant (up to 700% weapon damage), it appears Apprentice & Journeyman Tools that have up to 155% Weapon Damage yield both the same resources as a Primitive, and harvest ~11% faster. Unlike Ankylos or Doeds, having higher Weapon Damage on your Pickaxe / Hatchet means it also deals more damage to the Resource Node's Health, which means you do harvest it faster, but it yields less resources than using one with less Weapon Damage.
